The Maha Sangarathnaya Requested that Job Opportunities for Sri Lankans in Israel be Secured

Members of the Tri-Chapter Buddhist Monk’s Association in a Press Conference, called on the leadership of the country to secure job opportunities in Israel for Sri Lankan workers as a means of addressing the Dollar Crisis in the country and called on the President to establish Diplomatic Relations with Israel. Sri Lankan migrant workers to Israel will not only bring much needed Dollars to the country but also knowledge in sectors like Agriculture, Education and Health that will help Sri Lanka in its own development. It is important to remember that Israel has been a benefactor that supported Sri Lanka to gain victory in the three-decade long armed conflict by supplying marine vessels and fighter planes. There is an opportunity for 10,000 Sri Lankans to work in Israel and earn a good living. We must not miss out on this opportunity for our people because of those who are given into racism.
